KTM Introduces Pair of Electric Balance Bikes
January 11, 2022

KTM’s new balance bikes will look to create some buzz in 2022 — a buzz which will come from both the bikes’ electric motors and the excitement generated by the young riders.
With a North American release set for January 2022, the KTM 12eDRIVE and 16eDRIVE electric balance bikes are the newest entry-level bikes that allow the next generation of riders to cultivate the necessary riding skills. Offering quick-charging capabilities, both models provide 30-60 minutes of run-time and serve as predecessors to the KTM SX-E 5 — an electric motocrosser aimed at both beginner and competitive junior riders.
The KTM 12eDRIVE is designed for rapidly changing children just getting started on a bike. The model features 12-inch wheels with pneumatic tires and a low seat height of 33 cm. Pushing and coasting is possible for riders before elevating to the three-level powered mode.
The KTM 16eDRIVE is ideal for taller riders, those with more experience or a 45-61 inseam measurement. The more powerful model has a high-output motor and is fitted with 16-inch wheels and a 43 cm seat height.
While release in North America is set for January, Europe, Australia and other markets will see the KTM 12eDRIVE and 16eDRIVE with the latest graphics beginning March 2022.
