2020 Yamaha Bolt offers old-school styling with modern performance

Yamaha for 2020 is once again offering the Bolt, which the tuning fork company says “is stripped down with minimal chrome, epitomizing the ‘urban performance bobber’ look.”

The bobber features a 58-cubic-inch (942cc), air-cooled, V-twin engine with fuel injection and ignition timing maps to deliver strong low and midrange torque. The 60-degree V-twin has four valves per cylinder and a 9:1 compression ratio.
Yamaha says to keep friction loss to a minimum, increase durability and help the engine achieve the ideal performance characteristics, special roller-type rocker arms with needle bearings are used.

The bike has a stainless steel air cleaner cover that accentuates the Bolt’s styling. A 2-into-1 minimalist- style exhaust pipe layout on the right side of the engine contributes to the performance and styling of the machine.

Yamaha says the slim body of the bike and low seat design give the motorcycle light maneuverability and stable handling.

The bike features a double-cradle frame, low seat height of 27.2 inches and a short 61.8-inch wheelbase that helps provide precise, tight turns in city riding and solid handling on the open road.

The bike has 41mm fork tubes up front and twin shocks in the rear.

The bike also features a belt drive, newly designed spoke wheels with black anodized aluminum rims, Bridgestone 100/90-19 front and 150/80-16 rear tires, a 298mm front disc brake and 298mm rear disc.

The 3.4-gallon fuel tank has a traditional teardrop style.

Yamaha also offers a variety of customization options.
