Elvis Presley’s 1975 Harley-Davidson FLH to be auctioned Nov. 28
Elvis Presley’s 1975 Harley Davidson FLH, with the original title in his name, is part of an auction dubbed “Artifacts of Hollywood and Music” that is scheduled for Nov. 28.
Kruse GWS Auctions, which is conducting the sale, estimates the bike will sell for at least $300,000. Other machines on the auction block include actor Lee Marvin’s 1971 Honda CT90 Trail and a custom promotional 1973 Honda ATC 70 three-wheeler ATV used by Michael Jackson and his brothers while they were in the musical group the Jackson 5.
Presley bought the 1975 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 from a Memphis, Tenn., Harley-Davidson dealer in October 1974. The bike has been owned by an Ohio Harley-Davidson dealership for more than 30 years.
At the Kruse GWS Auctions “Artifacts of Hollywood and Music” auction held in Hollywood, Calif., in August 2019 Elvis Presley’s 1976 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide sold for $800,000. GWS Auctions says that Electra Glide, which was purchased new in California, was the last bike Presley bought.
The 1971 Honda CT90 Trail that Marvin owned includes the ownership transfer paperwork from the California Department of Motor Vehicles dated Dec. 21, 1971. The bike, which is in Missouri, comes with a bill of sale and original California black and gold license plate.
The Michael Jackson 1973 Honda ATC70 three-wheeler was custom made for the Jackson 5.
“In 1970 Honda began producing their ATC line of off-road trikes and the first model sold like crazy and gave birth to today’s billion-dollar ATV industry,” Kruse GWS Auctions said. “This particular trike was custom built by Honda for the Jackson 5 and was delivered to the group on April 3, 1973. The original delivery receipt says that the trike was ‘promotional’ and is made out to the Jackson 5 and Motown. As one could expect, one picture of the Jackson kids on these trikes would help Honda sell millions of these ATCs.”
The three-wheeler is nearly all stock and in excellent condition. It has a 70cc overhead-cam four-stroke single engine and stock suspension. This ATC is currently on display in a Missouri museum.
Kruse GWS Auctions says that it reserves the right to sell any lot “through a negotiated transaction at any time prior to the conclusion of the auction. If a lot is sold through a negotiated transaction, it will be withdrawn from the auction. All pre-auction purchases will receive free, overnight, insured shipping. Please email gwsauctions@gmail.com to submit a pre-auction offer.”
