Elvis Presley’s 1975 Harley-Davidson FLH fails to sell at auction

Elvis Presley’s 1975 Harley Davidson FLH 1200 didn’t sell at auction in November 2020 as part of an “Artifacts of Hollywood and Music” auction held by Kruse GWS Auctions.

The highest bid was $250,000 but that apparently wasn’t enough to entice the seller into parting with the machine.

The famed singer bought the Harley from a Memphis, Tenn., Harley-Davidson dealer in October 1974. The bike has been owned by an Ohio Harley-Davidson dealership for more than 30 years.

Also failing to sell at the action was a 1971 Honda CT90 Trail once owned by actor Lee Marvin, Bidding went up to $4,000 but that wasn’t enough.

A 1973 Honda ATC 70 three-wheeler ATV used by Michael Jackson and his brothers while they were in the musical group the Jackson 5 did sell, however, for $10,000.

“In 1970 Honda began producing their ATC line of off-road trikes and the first model sold like crazy and gave birth to today’s billion-dollar ATV industry,” Kruse GWS Auctions said. “This particular trike was custom built by Honda for the Jackson 5 and was delivered to the group on April 3, 1973. The original delivery receipt says that the trike was ‘promotional’ and is made out to the Jackson 5 and Motown. As one could expect, one picture of the Jackson kids on these trikes would help Honda sell millions of these ATCs.”
