Bottaro Wins AMA World’s Fastest Motorcycle Gamer Challenge by Init Esports
Esports spotlight turns to first-ever AMA Esports Motocross Championship
PICKERINGTON, Ohio (June 22, 2022) — The inaugural season of the AMA World’s Fastest Motorcycle Gamer Challenge by Init Esports has ended, with Julien Bottaro claiming the top spot on the virtual podium.
After four months of racing on RiMS Racing’s virtual racetracks, Bottaro (TeamJBRacing) held the fastest combined time — 9:16.948 — in the challenge held on two roads and two circuits.
“I’m very happy to have won the title of World’s Fastest Motorcycle Gamer and having a chance to come to experience road racing in America,” Bottaro said. “I am also an in-real-life racer in France, and playing on RiMS Racing during the World’s Fastest Motorcycle Gamer Challenge gave me the chance to practice tracks I have only seen on TV. Spending so many laps in-game gives me confidence to ride better in real life.”
Bottaro’s time was nearly 6 seconds faster than second place, which went to Simeon Wariso (TaLeNTzZ3000). Paul Robins (ROBO46) finished third.
“The competition was fierce, and I enjoyed every minute of it,” Bottaro said. “I can’t wait for more. Thanks to Init Esports, the AMA and my Team JBRacing for this great experience!”
By finishing first, Bottaro has earned an AMA National No. 1 plate in the discipline of Esports and will have the opportunity to spend time with a Superbike team in the U.S.
Turning the attention from the virtual pavement to the virtual dirt, the first AMA Esports Motocross Championship is now underway. Init Esports and Race Factory Gaming launched the new championship June 1 on a PC game titled MX Simulator.
The competition runs until Aug. 31 and includes a 450 Class, 250 Class and an Amateur Class. Racing will take place on 12 tracks.
“There are many people playing on MX Simulator, including AMA professional racers,” said Founder and CEO of Init Esports Stefy Bau. “Having a chance to reproduce real tracks is an opportunity to make a strong link between the gaming community and the motocross world. Gaming is a fast industry and being able to adapt fast is what is needed to win. We welcome the Race Factory community with open arms.”
Participants must be verified on the Init Esports website, obtain an AMA Esports License, and complete the race registrations on the Race Factory Gaming website.
Sign up is $35 for the season and $14 for those who already purchased a Race Factory season pass.
The winner of the competition will be crowned the AMA Esports Motocross Champion and receive additional prizes.
Each round will be streamed live on ESTV, Twitch and Youtube.
