American Motorcyclist Association Honors Fallen Veterans

AMA urges all motorists to remain safe on our nation’s roadways during Memorial Day weekend

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (May 27, 2022) — As our country prepares to honor the memories of fallen veterans on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, the American Motorcyclist Association extends its deepest gratitude to the men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States.

“Memorial Day is a reminder of the many Americans who dedicated and sacrificed their lives in defense of the liberties we enjoy every day, including the freedom to ride and race motorcycles,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “Motorcyclists everywhere are truly grateful to those individuals and their loved ones for their service to our country.”

While the country takes time to reflect, the AMA urges everyone to be safe as the roads become increasingly busy during the holiday weekend as many Americans travel to memorial services, parks, beaches, and many other of the nation’s many picturesque destinations.

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and the AMA implores motorists nationwide to be aware of motorcycles out on the roadways.

“We hope all motorists exhibit extra caution and stay aware of motorcycles to ensure this weekend is safe for all those traveling our nation’s roads,” Dingman said, adding that the AMA reminds motorcyclists to ride safely and to not drink and ride.
